On Thursday, April 7, Julie Anne San Jose, together with Paolo Valenciano, and GMA Regional TV and Synergy First Vice President and Head Oliver Victor Amoroso were shocked that Limitless, A Musical Trilogy was named a finalist in this year’s New York Festivals TV and Film Awards.
The three-part concert is expected to raise the Philippine flag as it will be competing against other shortlisted entries from different countries. Limitless, A Musical Trilogy will be under the Entertainment Special: Variety Special category.
In the virtual media conference of the last leg of the concert, San Jose began by saying, “When the news was delivered to us, parang… siyempre nagulat din po kami. But at the same time, we were just so overwhelmed kasi hindi biro ang mapabilang or ma-shortlist sa New York Festival.”
It was “surreal” for the singer-actress. She insisted that it was not possible if not for the whole team.
“Naging worth it lahat nang pagod, lahat ng hardwork, and of course, hindi magiging possible if it weren’t for the synergy team and of buong team ng Limitless Musical Trilogy. Sila po talaga ang nagbigay-buhay sa project na ito. Nakakatuwa lang din po kasi family ko na po itong Limitless team. Nakakataba talaga ng puso kasi worth it po talaga lahat.”
Valenciano, the concert’s director, revealed that the achievement, being a bonus, is still very fulfilling.
“S’yempre nakakatanggal siya ng pagod. Itong si Limitless, it really stretched us in terms of yung creative juices namin. Talagang nakakapagod siya. And to see—we don’t do these things for recognition or awards. But of course, when it’s recognized, it makes us feel all fuzzy inside and it just feels like we did something right, and that’s a very fulfilling feeling.”
For Amoroso, the GMA Regional TV and Synergy First Vice President and Head, he too was overwhelmed. The sacrifices they made in creating Breathe, Heal, and Rise were worth it, he said.
“Naniwala kami sa talent talaga ni Julie eh. Yung pagiging multi-instrumentalist niya, yung music niya, we want to showcase it. Kasi bihira ang mabigyan ng opportunity na kung anong music na gusto ni Julie ay talagang maipapalabas namin sa material.
“We are very grateful dahil lahat nang iyon, came to place, and we’re able to do the three legs, the three part. Na-bless din kami dahil nabigyan kami ng support ng fans ni Julie at ng mga talagang into the ‘ano ba talaga ang bago?'”
“The award will hopefully inspire us lalo na si Julie at si Direk Pao and his team.”
He added, “Nandito lang ang GMA Synergy to support them. Because we really want to produce more new materials for our viewers, for our ticket buyers.”
