With this latest deal, ABS-CBN is strengthening its presence in key cities. During the announcement today {April 6}, the partnership promised: “to change the Filipino’s viewing experience by combining the power of traditional and viewing experience.”
How much this new deal will affect the viewership of ABS-CBN programs seems to be the most exciting part, as several Kapamilya shows are already performing impressively in the rating game, even with their still limited free TV presence. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, which remains ABS-CBN’s banner primetime show, is currently the second most-watched series in the country, according to the data from AGB Nielsen.

PIE Channel will be carried by BEAM’s network of digital TV stations nationwide. No word yet about the new channel’s program line-up. Among the ABS-CBN-produced programs that may soon air on BEAM’s digital TV stations are primetime programs, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, The Broken Marriage Vow, and Viral Scandal.
BEAM maintains a network of digital TV stations in key areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Aside from its originating Manila station, it has relay stations in Baguio, Naga, Iloilo, Cebu, Zamboanga, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao.
Also, BEAM will shut off all its analog TV stations to complete its digital migration this year.
