OPM icon Jim Paredes reacted to the latest red-tagging statement of NTF-ELCAC Spokesperson Lorraine Badoy-Partosa.
Paredes pointed out in his tweet on March 28 that Badoy’s latest stunt could be related to the surging support for the candidacy of VP Leni Robredo and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.
Paredes suspected that because the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem is getting stronger–no amount of trolls could stop it from getting more traction–more trolls got added into the scene. However, it seemed that the attempts to destabilize the growing supporters–are not too effective. Then Lorraine Badoy is on the loose to do some red-tagging.

Badoy has recently red-tagged all prominent local media companies as part of the network of CPP-NPA-NDF.
“Entire guerrilla fronts being dismantled yet [these] don’t come out in mainstream media. Out of the blue, GMA7, ABS-CBN, Inquirer. Philstar, CNN [asking to interview me about this nuisance thing. You can really see that media is part of the network of the Communist Party of the Philippines.”
Media are crucial in the elections because they are the legitimate sources of news and information. Media also act as fact-checkers of misinformation being peddled on social media.
Political analysts Richard Heydarian can’t help but react also to Badoy’s latest statement.
Sharing Teddy Casino’s tweet asking how far Badoy’s craziness could go, Heydarian tweeted “Bottomless to…”

Meanwhile, netizen @arriannnnnne shared a photo of posters in Tacloban City tagging VP Leni as NPA supporters.
According to the netizen, that’s the result of some gov’t officials’ red-tagging which is getting worse day by day.
“These signs are seen at the Govt Center, Palo, Leyte where the People’s Rally will be held tomorrow. The red-tagging is getting worse day by day. They are no longer playing fair. I’ve personally seen few as well in Magsaysay Blvd, Tacloban City. @teamlenirobredo @lenirobredo“

Badoy got sued by the Ombudsman over her wholesale red-tagging.
On Wednesday, March 23, a group of 26 activists, religious leaders, teachers, and student leaders filed a complaint at the Ombudsman against Badoy for violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
“By utilizing the infrastructure of state media for purposes of influencing the minds of voters vis-a-vis the May 9, 2022 elections, Undersecretary Badoy has besmirched the reputation of her fellow public servant in the process.
“We are collectively shocked at such behavior, which we believe is unbecoming of Undersecretary Badoy’s office… we believe that she should be disciplined for such breach of the public’s trust,” said in their petitions.
Meanwhile, aside from the complaint to Ombudsman, Badoy was also charged in COMELEC over election-related charges.
The Makabayan bloc on Friday, March 25 charged Badoy for violating the ombinus election code following her successive red tagging against Presidential candidate VP Leni Robredo and Partylist groups Anakpawis, Bayan Muna, Act Teachers, and Gabriela.
