Despite Ruru Madrid’s recent ankle injury, the Kapuso series Lolong will not delay its airing date.
On March 7, Ruru explained that his injury made the entire Lolong team stop their lock-in taping. He will need to rest for 2-4 weeks that’s why their taping will resume in a month.
However, GMA First Vice President for Public Affairs Nessa Valdellon said that Lolong’s airing date will not be delayed.
She explained that Ruru did not fracture his ankle as it was only sprained.
“Si Ruru kasi magaling ‘yan. He likes to do his own stunts as much as possible although he has a stunt double. Mayroon siyang very simple stunt na ang nangyari, na-twist ‘yung ankle niya,” shared Valdellon.
“On the the first set of x-rays, akala namin fracture because the doctor seems to have seen a fracture. Noong pumunta naman sa St. Luke’s [Medical Center] for second opinion, hindi naman pala fracture. It’s just a sprain. Thank God!” she said.
Valdellon then assured that Madrid and the entire Lolong team will be taping again soon.
“We’ll be back to taping very soon. He’s okay. He’s healing. Very soon we’ll be back to taping. Last six days na lang [ng taping] so hindi maapektuhan ‘yung schedule ng airing,” she said.
Lolong was first announced in 2019 but had a slow start and progress due to the pandemic.
