On March 14, TV host-singer Billy Crawford shared thoughts on what makes Masked Singer Pilipinas stand out from its international counterpart like Masked Singer USA.
During the media conference for the second season of Masked Singer Pilipinas, Crawford highlighted the musical talents of the contestants joining the mystery singing competition.
“In fairness sa mga talents natin dito sa Pilipinas ha, ang huhusay. As in from, konting contestants namin first season pa lang, noong wala si Kuya Yani. Ganon na katindi ‘yung mga comparisons. Ganon tayo kagaling. And mas dinoble natin dito sa season two.
“So you have sixteen contestants, na lahat sila ang huhusay. So kung ikukumpara natin sa season 5 or season 6 ng kung anong mayroon sila sa ibang bansa, kaya nating makipagsapalaran sa mga ‘yun. Dahil ang huhusay talaga ng mga contestants.”
He then pointed out the host and judges’ rapport on set that shines through each moment of the second season.
“‘Yung sa amin sa mga judge-detectives, sa kanila ‘yung rapport namin, as in magkakabarkada na kami, as in magkakaibigan. We love each other, we work together sa iba-ibang projects din.”
He noted that he feels more relaxed hosting the TV show thanks to the talent of the contestants and the rapport of the entire Masked Singer Pilipinas team.
“So nakasalalay lahat ‘to sa mga contestants. So ako personally, sa tingin ko mas naging relax ‘yung trabaho ko kasi nire-remind ko nga sa kanila na may host sila kasi wala ng ano, parang naglalaro na lang kami. Totoo, magulo talaga. Pero ‘yung camaraderie namin ay napagsasama namin ‘yan dahil sa kagalingan ng contestants namin.”
Hosted by Billy Crawford, Masked Singer Pilipinas returns with Judges Matteo Guidicelli, Kim Molina, Cristine Reyes, and Aga Muhlach with its newest addition, comedian Bayani Agbayani.
The highly successful singing competition returns for its second season with sixteen new mystery contestants on March 19, 6 PM on TV5.
