“lol,” Pangilinan captioned.
“WHY?!!!Tell me WHY?!!! I gotta fight for my song’s rights as well as Willy Cruz’s who wrote it! Cannot be. Di dapat sinisira ang isang classic. Basta TAYO ANG AT MAY ORIG! Oh please WE HAVE NOT ALLOWED YOU TO USE OUR SONG! Please stop. Nakakaawa naman ang kanta namin at nakakahiya,” Cuneta replied to her daughter’s tweet.

In a statement, Senatorial aspirant Salvador Panelo said he is sorry that Cuneta was offended by his use of the song during the campaign activity of vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in Quezon City. Meanwhile, clarified in a statement on Facebook on Friday that he sang the song in honor of his late son. Carlo died of heart complications from Down syndrome on January 6, 2017 at the age of 27.
Cuneta released the song Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas in 1986 as an original soundtrack (OST) to the film by Leroy Salvador of the same title. She starred with two equally talented actresses–Cherie Gil and Dina Bonnevie as three friends, who succeeded as a singing trio until one of them became a soloist.
Willy Cruz wrote the lyrics, made the arrangement, and composed the music; while the Megastar launched the album of the same title in 1994.
