Kapuso artist Myrtle Sarrosa on Wednesday, March 2, revealed the reason for her silence in terms of getting political this election period.
Despite coming from a political clan, Sarrosa, as an artist of GMA Network, has prevented her to speak her mind. Impartiality is also of importance due to her job as the host of iBilib.
“The reason why I’m not speaking up in terms of politics is because bilang artist rin sa GMA and because nagho-host ako ngayon, for a month, for iBilib, which is a kid’s show din. So parang nag-isip ako.
“Kapag ganito kasi yung mga nire-represent ko na mga shows, hindi kasi ako p’wede mag-side,” she explained during the virtual press conference for her contract renewal as the Sisters Sanitary Napkins’ ambassador.
Furthermore, the actress says she respects the opinions of others as another reason for her “silence.”
“Meron akong opinion but I would rather keep it to myself as naniniwala ako na we should just respect the choices of each and everyone.”
Sarrosa was a product of ABS-CBN’s reality show Pinoy Big Brother and in 2019, made the switch to the Kapuso Network. Since then, she has been doing a series of projects, which she feels extremely grateful for.
“Actually sobrang blessed ko talaga sa GMA. Kasi ever since I started with them back in February 2019, sobrang blessed ko kasi dere-deretso yung naging projects ko.”
She added, “Actually, itong months na ‘to, ang dami nilang pinapa-line up sa akin na shows. It’s just that gusto ko lang tapusin yung mga existing commitments ko. So I’m very much blessed sa Kapuso Network talaga. Kasi they never stopped giving me projects. Ako na lang yung napapagod sa ginagawa, hahaha!”
In the meantime, Sarrosa is celebrating her sixth-year partnership with Megasoft Hygienic Products Inc. With the help of the company, she is eager to continue empowering students across the Philippines.
