The camp of Kapamilya star Dawn Chang is contemplating filing libel charges against veteran showbiz columnist and anchor Cristy Fermin.
This after the latter’s malicious statements and remarks against Chang aired over her radio show Cristy Ferminute.
During the program’s February 10 episode, Fermin lambasts Dawn Chang following her statement on Toni Gonzaga’s controversial hosting job at the Marcos Jr-Duterte-Carpio proclamation rally.
Fermin lashed out at Chang, accusing her of flirting with the bosses to secure jobs in ABS-CBN.
“Naku Dawn Chang, gusto mong ibulgar ko kung bakit ka nagkakaroon ng trabaho?
“Pabash-bash ka pa, ikaw ang dapat i-bash dahil wala kang mararating kung hindi ka nakikipaglandian sa mga boss!.
“Naku ha. Dawn Chang. Tumigil ka nga Dawn Chang. Dawn Chang me. Charot,” said Cristy.
Meanwhile, in their official statement shared over Twitter, Atty. Ralph Calinisan of the Calinisan Domino and Beron Law offices said that Fermin’s statements over her radio show were definitely “malicious, hateful and malevolent,” detrimental to Dawn’s character and reputation.

The lawyer argued that while Fermin has freedom of speech, freedom must be exercised responsibly. He also described Fermin’s action as shameful and a reflection of what’s inside her soul.
At the end of the statement, Calinisan said that on behalf of Dawn, they are demanding Fermin’s public apology and retraction of her derogatory and libelous statement, which should be published in full-page national leading newspapers.
They are giving Fermin until February 16, 2022, to comply with their demands, or they will pursue the filling of a criminal, civil, and even administrative case against her.
