Known DDS actor and senatorial aspirant Robin Padilla lambasted renowned film Director Erik Matti over his comment on Toni Gonzaga.
Robin didn’t mince words in a Facebook post in scolding the award-winning director for his recent comment criticizing the former PBB host.
Robin rebuked Matti over his disregard of Toni’s freedom and rights to support his chosen candidate.
Padilla came to Toni’s defense following Matti’s recent Instagram post about Toni’s controversial hosting gig at the proclamation rally of Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio in Philippine Arena.
Toni drew flak online after she gleefully introduced senatorial aspirant Rodante Marcoleta, known for his role in denying the ABS-CBN franchise renewal.
But what’s triggered Matti most was Toni’s IG story picturing her as the “Unbothered Queen” despite drawing huge backlash on social media, which came across to Matti as blatant arrogance.

“To give your support to any political candidate whether or not out of affinity, blood or loyalty is between you and your conscience. You can do whatever you want with your celebrity power and God’s guidance because this is a free world, after all. But to be brazen, arrogant, and snooty makes all of it despicable, disgusting, and really crude,” said Matti in his Instagram post.
Padilla’s latest action was contrary to his previous one when he was supposed to work with Toni in a movie.
Toni and Robin were supposed to star in a Star Cinema romantic comedy film but was canceled after six days of shooting. Although Toni didn’t reveal the real reason for the cancellation of their film, there were rumors that Robin backed out because he didn’t want to work with Toni.
