Toni Gonzaga drew the ire of netizens after people claimed that the singer-host did not stand by what she said on the ABS-CBN shutdown after introducing Rep. Rodante Marcoleta in the proclamation rally Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
On February 8, presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos held his proclamation rally at the Philippine Arena, Bulacan, where Toni Gonzaga was the host.
Rep. Rodante Marcoleta was among the UniTeam line-up for the Bongbong Marcos-Sarah Duterte Tandem.
To recall, Marcoleta voted to deny the franchise of Gonzaga’s home network, ABS-CBN, in July 2020.
Netizens then slammed Gonzaga for introducing Marcoleta in the said proclamation rally. They then recalled her statement in July 2020, where she condemned the people who shut down ABS-CBN.
“Sa lahat ng nasa posisyon ngayon, hindi namin makakalimutan ang ginawa nyo sa mga trabahador ng ABSCBN. You may have the power now but it will not be forever.”
