Critics stress that while the PNR still has a debt worth approximately P70 billion, the new project might just end up unfinished, like the Northrail Project or High Speed Railway in 2006, which the government spent millions of dollars on but only had 20% of its construction done.
Would the privatization of PNR provide better transportation service to Filipinos? Or would it shift the burden of the PNR’s debt and operational expenses to the commuters?

Terry Ridon, on the other hand, insisted that the government should focus more on improving the entire barangay political system instead of abolishing SK. Should the SK be abolished or should it be reformed?
