Former beauty queen turned sexy actress Cindy Miranda on Wednesday, January 5, says she aspires to be a serious actress and not just be known for showing skin.
“Not just a sexy actress, a serious one. I want to be in drama, gusto ko sana na makagawa ako ng movie na wholesome lang,” she said during the virtual media conference for her upcoming movie Reroute.
The reason is that Miranda would like the audience to see a different side of her.
“But because marami akong naririnig na, ‘palagi lang hubaran ‘yan’ yung mga ganoong comments, gusto ko rin makita nila ako sa isang project na hindi naman sexy. Para naman hindi nila sabihin na palagi lang akong nagpapakita ng skin ko or may ine-expose lang ako na part ng katawan ko. I want to try lahat nang bagay.”
Miranda is really taking her career seriously as she aspires to be a good actress and not just an actress.
“I really wanted to become an actress, a serious actress. Sabi mo nga, sexy actress. It’s not bad to me, it doesn’t sound bad to me but I want to be a very good actress. Not just a sexy actress, a serious one.”
She also hoped that people would support her if she did a project involving any sexy roles.
“I hope people will watch me in the future kung gagawa man ako ng very wholesome movie, sana suportahan nila ako.”
Miranda started her career as a sexy actress playing Marian in the 2019 lesbian movie Adan. She also had a minor role in Christine Reyes’s assassin film Maria. The sexy star then had another lead role in 2021 when she played alongside Aljur Abrenica in the erotic movie Nerisa.
She even considers being called a sexy actress a “compliment.”
“Hindi ko gustong iwasan ang pagiging sexy. That’s even a compliment na tawagin kang sexy actress. Not everyone can do a sexy character. I’m blessed na magkaroon ng trabaho. Sana doon sa mga tao na ‘yon makita nila ako sa ibang light,” Miranda explained.
Reroute also stars John Arcilla, Sid Lucero, and Nathalie Hart. The movie is under the direction of esteemed director Lawrence Fajardo.
Catch it on Vivamax, January 21.
