Director Samantha Lee exposed the problems she encountered with actors she is supposed to work with within her new series via Twitter on Monday, December 13.
Lee narrated that she was shocked when a celebrity handler asked her not to ask her talent about an LGBTQ+ issue without mentioning any names.
She narrated, “I can’t stop thinking about how yesterday, we announced our new wlw series but right before that I did an interview where a celeb handler asked me not to ask her talent about an LGBTQ+ issue.”
Although, she said that she feels lucky to be able to work with the unnamed celebrities.
“I’m so so lucky to be able to work with who I’m working but at the same time, there is so much work that needs to be done. So much gaps that needs to be filled.
“I’m also still in shock that the handler asked a queer person not to ask an LGBTQ+ question,” she wrote.
Lee is the director of Sleep With Me, an LGBTQ-themed series top-billed by Lovi Poe and Janine Gutierrez. Dan Villegas will produce it.
Villegas shared a photo of him with Lee, Poe, and Gutierrez on Instagram on Friday, December 10.
