The late King of Comedy Dolphy Quizon’s legacy was appreciated by The ExorSis star Toni Gonzaga, Friday, December 3.
During the film’s virtual media conference, Gonzaga was asked to choose one celebrity who passed away and give her message.
The actress chose Dolphy.
Dolphy died at the age of 83 on July 10, 2012, due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), leading his sons, Eric and Epy, to become advocates of spreading awareness about the ailment’s dangers.
“Ako kay Mang Dolphy. Yung ating King of Comedy.”
She chose the King of Comedy for one reason: to give her thanks.
“Magpapasalamat lang ako sa kanya, sa maraming taon na pinasaya niya kami,” expressed Gonzaga.
She recalled how the departed King of Comedy gave joy to her childhood and appreciated what he had done for the entertainment industry.
“Maraming salamat dahil yung comedy na ginawa mo noon, hanggang ngayon ginagawa pa rin namin at napapatawa pa rin kami. Yun ang kanyang legacy,” she thanked.
The ExorSis is under the direction of filmmaker Fifth Solomon and includes Alex Gonzaga, Dennis Padilla, Kat Galang, Joel Saracho, Tess Antonio, Kedebon Colim, Isay Alvarez, and Melai Cantiveros.
The movie produced by Viva Films is also an upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry making its premiere in cinemas nationwide on December 25.
