In a recent Ogie Diaz’s vlog released on November 23, he shared a comment from a netizen who discovered that Vice Ganda and John Prats allegedly unfollowed each other on Instagram.
“May nagsabi naman sa akin na parang nagtatampo raw si Vice kay John Prats dahil all along, they thought na si John Prats na ‘yung magdidirek ng It’s Showtime, e napunta siya sa Ang Probinsyano,” Diaz shared.
“So parang pinili ni John Prats ‘yung Ang Probinsyano over It’s Showtime?,” his co-host Mama Loi asked.
Mama Loi also added that celebrities’ relationship or friendship status could also be based on their social media interaction.
In 2020, the original director of It’s Showtime Bobet Vidanes left and moved to TV5. Since then, Vice Ganda and other hosts have been giving indirect blows against the director.
Boyet Baldemor replaced Vidanes, and eventually, John Prats took the job of directing the ABS-CBN noontime show.
Prats was expected to be the regular director of It’s Showtime, however, he also directs Kapamilya teleserye FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano at the same time.
Prats then took a hiatus from It’s Showtime when FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano had its lock-in taping. But, this November, Dreamscape announced that Prats would be one of the directors of the longest-running TV series, and It’s Showtime also welcomed Jon Moll as its newest director.
Two days after the release of Diaz’s vlog, he gave an update that Vice Ganda and John Prats are now following each other on Instagram. Accordingly, the two are not [really] following each other before that’s why netizens thought that they are not on good terms.
“Siguro nakalimutan lang nilang dalawa na mag-followhan, kasi diba naging issue na ngayon na kapag hindi finallow ng isang artista ang kasama niyang artista parang may something na sila.
“Eto naman, wala namang tampuhan, yan ang sinasabi ko, ‘All’s well that ends well’,” Diaz said.
Meanwhile, in the congratulatory post of Camille Prats for her brother, the comment of Kim Atienza also became controversial as netizens assumed that he was trying to throw a pun against It’s Showtime.
I didn't mean anything negative w my comment. Being a friend of Direk Bobet, I know how difficult it is to direct a live show. Masakit talaga sa ulo, multitasking w a skeleton crew etc. I love my showtime family and will never say anything bad about them. Be safe everyone. https://t.co/zTq45Z6Tet

Atienza immediately clarified that he had no intention of imposing a negative comment against his former show and explained why he commented such.
Vidanes previously posted a photo with Atienza and Billy Crawford, naming them his true friends. Netizens also discovered that Billy and Vice Ganda unfollowed each other on Instagram.
