Barbie Imperial admitted on Tuesday, November 16, that she struggled in her upcoming movie Dulo, due to its requirement of getting into her first bed scene.
“Siguro yung pinaka-challenging na po is yung bed scene na talaga,” she said during the virtual media conference of the film.
The movie also stars her boyfriend, Diego Loyzaga.
Dulo also marks Imperial’s first project with Viva. She had no idea if doing a love scene with her real-life partner would be easier.
“First time ko ‘tong gawin na love scene so hindi ko alam if mas madali kung sa boyfriend.”
She was also nervous at first, but with Loyzaga beside her, the feeling faded away.
Though she had a hard time with the bed scene, Imperial said that the movie was “smooth sailing” due to its relatable story.
She then added how the movie’s director and staff helped her become at ease on the set.
Being Imperial’s first intimate scene, Loyzaga could not help but be proud of his girlfriend. The young actor even stressed that he does not care if it was her first or last bed scene.
“Of course I’m happy. S’yempre gusto ko baby ko ‘to eh. I didn’t naman ask na ‘Uy dapat may love scene.’ It wouldn’t make a difference for me kung may love scene or hindi.
“I don’t think naman na may status na ‘Uy sino ang unang naka-love scene nitong artistang ‘to?’ Does it matter? I don’t think that matters,” explained Loyzaga.
However, he could not [also] deny that he’d get jealous if Imperial’s partner [in the bed scene] won’t be him.
“S’yempre magseselos ako kung ibang lalaki. Oo sige aminado ako pero I don’t think naman na may status na ‘Who was the first na naka-love scene ni Barbie Imperial?'”
The couple also took turns sharing what they discovered with each other while working in Dulo.
I saw her work ethic and how much effort she puts in to the scene kahit na anong pagod, kahit ilang days na straight na,” he added.
Dulo is directed by Fifth Solomon and will serve as the couple’s anniversary presentation. Catch it on December 10, only on Vivamax.
