Singer-comedian K Brosas opened up the whole story about her biological mother who was an ‘akyat-barko’ before in Olongapo City.
In an episode of Toni Gonzaga’s YouTube show, Toni Talks titled, What K Brosas Wants To Hear From Her Mother, Gonzaga and Brosas had an in-depth discussion regarding the latter’s mother.
According to Brosas, her mother was an entertainer or ‘akyat-barko’ in Olongapo way back in the ’70s.
Olongapo used to be a docking station and U.S. Naval Base.
Brosas revealed that she was born out of wedlock and her mother does not even know who her father was.
After giving birth, her mother gave her to Brosas’s aunt just because she does not want her.
“Kasi that time yung tiyahin ko nakaka ‘LL’ (luwag-luwag, means has a cpmfortable life), siya naman ang ‘G na G’ (gipit na gipit, means in dire need).

Brosas also shared that she has had a cold relationship with her mother since she was a child.
Brosas grew up with a lack of love and care from her mother.
Her friends served as her source of strength. Because of this, she became a rebellious daughter to her mother.
She is thankful to her aunt and uncle who sent her to a prestigious school and provided her needs, however, she was a battered child because of her rebellious acts.
Brosas also shared the story behind her unforgettable encounter with her mother.
One day, her mother went home, and when Brosas entered the house, her mother slapped her using a slipper.
Brosas then turned emotional as she remembers what her mother told her that time.
Until now, her relationship with her mother remained cold to the point that it already took a toll on her mental health. Also, she is being called ungrateful by her aunt even after all of the gifts or treats she gave them back.
Brosas then shared her dream as of now.
“Pangarap ko, maayos once and for all bago ako matsugi, or matsugi isa sa amin, wag naman po sana.
“Sa totoo kong ina, of course gusto kong maayos pero mahirap let’s be real, mahirap.”
She also wishes that her daughter will grow up well and to have her own beach house. To have someone with whom she can spend the rest of her life.
