Weather anchor Kim Atienza currently has a new trivia segment called Alam Na This in 24 Oras.
However, questions surfaced on social media whether Kuya Kim is going up against his former network’s news program?
On October 29, Kim Atienza tweeted about his new trivia segment in GMA Network’s primetime news program.
A netizen asked if he felt guilty for going up against his former news program, TV Patrol.
Kuya kim. Dika ba nagi guilty at nahihiya sa pinag gagawa mo na kinalaban mo pa dati mong palabas. Mahiya ka naman. Same time slot at show pa talaga.

As for the issue of going up against his former network’s program with his new segment, clearly, some netizens expressed their disappointment.
In showbiz, respect is vital among the artists and their home networks. So it’s always big news whenever a celebrity transfers to a new network with a new show that competes with their previous program in their former network.
One example of this is when Ice Seguerra promoted the Kapamilya series, Be Careful With My Heart. Seguerra didn’t appear in Eat Bulaga’s competing show, ‘It’s Showtime, out of respect of his home network and previous program.
Another netizen responded, pointing out that “kinakalaban” or going up against is an over-exaggeration. The netizen also pointed out artists commonly assigned to shows competing with their former programs upon transferring to a network.

Atienza retweeted the post, noting he’s on a different platform and audience with 24 Oras and Alam Na This.
Husay. At magkaiba na ng platform at audience. Hindi kami magkalaban. Salamat. https://t.co/fC0cgQexRg
