Rising OPM solo artist and TikTok star Kemrie kicks in the door with her latest single “Cruel House”. This song follows the release of “Impressions”, which came out last year.
Wrapped in shimmering beats and catchy rhythm, this single is a masterclass in what the young singer-songwriter does best: conveying internal thoughts and storytelling. Kemrie will always have a knack for being very experimental and out-of-the-box towards her artistry. She is drawn to her musical influences like Taylor Swift, Winona Oak, and Lennon Stella since she finds their songwriting prowess really intriguing.
Kemrie said that she found her sound after singing gospel songs when back in grade school. Lyrically, “Cruel House” is deep and emotional. Musically, it’s a very hypnotic pop song that builds from easy-listening verses into a last song syndrome-inducing chorus.
Earlier this year, Kemrie submitted this song to the online global song contest Djooky Music Awards. It has what it takes to be a straight up bop, just so good that it was easily chosen as Djooky Song of the Day on June 29, 2021. This Filipino song entry reached the number 2 spot during the national voting rounds and it even reached regional (South East Asia) voting rounds respectively.
“Cruel House” is out now on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, and all digital stores worldwide under Universal Records.
