“I am more confident than before.”
This is how Kapuso Soul Balladeer Garrett Bolden described what has changed for him since joining “The Clash” Season 1 in 2018.
While he was not lucky enough to win the competition, Garrett Bolden is undoubtedly one of the most promising singer-songwriters in the country.
Bolden just won his second Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Award for Male Pop Artist of the Year.
He said he is very grateful to the GMA network for giving him the opportunity.
“I was ready to go back to zero and start another journey, pero I was blessed enough to be a part of the Kapuso network, and from then on I’ve been gradually going up,” said Garrett in a virtual interview on Thursday.
He thinks, singing wholeheartedly is one of the reasons why he receives various projects and recognition. It’s one of the magic he considers why viewers enjoy his music.
He shared, “Ang tanging hindi ko po aalisin regardless of whatever song I’m gonna try to sing is the heart and the passion, and the message of the song. Every song na kakantahin ko talaga pong target ko ay maipadama ‘yon sa mga listener at sa mga nanonood.”
“Same as my songs din po. Itong mga song na ire-release ko pa at ‘yung mga na-release ko na is something that really came from my heart po talaga.”
It’s only been a couple of years since he joined The Clash, but he can tell that a lot has changed for him.
“Well, in all aspects po I am more confident than before. I really feel na I am able to express myself even more during the clash compared to now.”
“Wala naman pong perfect but Im really aiming to be able to hone my craft para mas lalong mapasaya yung mga manonood, nakikinig, at ‘yung sumusuporta sakin,” he added.
Garrett pushes himself to try even harder and do better to the craft he loves with the awards he receives.
“So yes, nandun po yung pressure. It’s a good pressure po ha. Good pressure naman,” said singer-songwriter.
Garrett announced that he is working on a new single that he plans to release very soon. He also promised that he would try his best to explore his craft to make more good music.
