Candy Pangilinan [jokingly] admitted on Friday, October 8, that she “struggled” working on the set of her upcoming film, Sa Haba ng Gabi– due to Direk Miko Livelo’s doing.
“Working with Direk, nahirapan kami. Kasi nga gusto namin s’yang ipa-check up. Hindi s’ya masyadong maayos kausap. May—may sapak talaga ang direktor namin,” she said during the film’s media conference.
Direk Miko likewise agreed saying, “Hindi naman ho ako tatanggi so tama naman ‘yun.”
However, it was just a ruse.
The actress then clarified that during the entirety of the film’s shooting, they all had fun. She even compared the heavy atmosphere of the Netflix movie Kingdom: Ashin of the North to how light their production was.
“Masaya lang. It’s a very fun set. Napakagaan ng set namin. Kung gaano kabigat ang Kingdom, ganun kagaan ang Sa Haba ng Gabi, she explained.
In terms of adjustment, the actress said that they only had to react to given situations since the movie is a horror-comedy.
“Ang adjustment lang namin kung paano kami magre-react. S’yempre madaming ano, dumi-dumi. So okay lang ‘yan artista naman kami so okay lang na madumihan kami at kung anu-ano pa. Though talagang we worked under sun and rain talaga so ayos naman ‘yon.”
Meanwhile, her co-stars, reel-and-real couple Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles revealed that the director acknowledged their inputs for the movie.
“Si Direk Miko, meron s’ya na, ‘O sige, mag-input kayo,’ may gano’n na kaagad. So siguro maraming eksena dito na nagi-improv kami,” revealed Napoles.
Molina added, “Si Direk Miko yung, ‘kayo na d’yan!’ Okay. Hahaha!”
Sa Haba ng Gabi, is produced by Master of Horror, Erik Matti, and is about a housemaid (Pangilinan), along with her cousin (Molina) and a resident driver (Napoles), who were trying to survive while being trapped in a mansion they are employed during a zombie apocalypse.
The movie will premiere on Vivamax starting October 29.
