Billy Crawford opened up about his switch from ABS-CBN to the TV5 network. He said that his decision to transfer was worth it.
In an exclusive interview with PEP, the TV host shared that being his network transfer has something to do with providing for his loved ones.
“Definitely loyalty will not put food on the table. I tell you that.
“It’s medyo mahirap because it comes across na medyo selfish in a way, di ba?
“Kaming mga artista, pag nagdedesisyon kaming ganito na lumipat, or [take] other opportunities—ganito, ganyan—pero at the end of the day, yung totoong pakiramdam nung tao, yung totoong hirap…
“Yung makikita mong yung pamilya mong may kailangan pa at hindi ka na secure kung nasaan ka, gagawa at gagawa ka ng paraan para maiahon lahat ng taong mahal mo sa buhay,” he said.
Prior to transferring to TV5, Crawford was a host in ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime. He was with the noontime show for more than seven years.
The TV host confirmed his plans of transferring to TV5 in September 2020 during his interview with Vice Ganda’s YouTube show Gabing Gabi Na Vice.
He is currently a host of TV5’s noontime variety show Lunch Out Loud (LOL).
Meanwhile, Crawford also shared about his strings with ABS-CBN before he transferred to TV5. He said that he did not have any contractual obligations with the Kapamilya network at the time of his transfer.
“Ako, nung lumipat ako, wala na akong kontrata sa ABS [CBN], first of all. Wala na akong kontrata, that’s one…
“So, fresh na fresh, I could do any decision na kailangan kong gawin,” he said.
Billy Crawford is married to Coleen Garcia, and they have a one-year-old son, Amari.
