Bearing a distinct mix of grit and intrigue, the HBO Asia Original series ON THE JOB starts with the 2013 film of the same name which is divided into the first two episodes of the series but with a difference – the episodes have been remastered and it includes scenes that were deleted from the original film.
The next four episodes of the series expands on Erik Matti’s uncompromising vision that first wowed audiences back in 2013 and is only available exclusively on HBO GO. When a group of journalists suddenly go missing in the town of La Paz under highly suspicious circumstances, a group of journalists investigate the truth behind the disappearances, uncovering a tangled web of crime and corruption with connections to politics. Unflinching in its message that rings true even today, the series touches on real-world issues of press freedom, fake news, and how exposing the misdeeds about about power in positions of power can sometimes cost your life.
