Kapamilya show FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and GMA Network’s Legal Wives went head-to-head as the latter recently had a new timeslot.
With the time slot of Legal Wives colliding with FPJAP, how did both shows fare in the TV rating game?
Legal Wives replaced The World Between Us (TWBU) as it had its season break. The move pushed Legal Wives to move 40 minutes ahead of its current 8:40 PM time slot. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano airs on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and TV5 on its usual 8:00 PM slot.
According to the figures of AGB NUTAM on August 30, Legal Wives had a TV rating of 14.3%. The rating was 2.6% higher than FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, which had 11.7% rating.
Considering the limited audience reach of FPJAP, the series still had a fair rating and was able to keep up with its rival shows.
The GMA Network currently has around 60 stations nationwide. If the ABS-CBN network had its original reach before shutdown, would FPJAP have a higher TV rating?
FPJAP is already in its sixth year on air and recently announced its extension, putting an end to a long-circulating rumor that Cardo Dalisay is finally taking his rest to give way for Martin’s rumored entry to politics.
The series recently introduced Julia Montes as the latest addition to the longest-running action-drama series. Dreamscape Entertainment said that Montes is playing Dalisay’s last love in the series.
On the other hand, Legal Wives tells the story of a Maranaw man who marries not one but three women for various reasons.
The Kapuso series revolves around socio-political and cultural topics involving Muslim life as the show aims to shed light on their culture and tradition, which few are aware of.
