The longest-running action-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is set to celebrate its sixth year on air.
ABS-CBN unveiled the show’s logo for the next season on Monday, August 16.
The title card features an emblem, with six stars and the letter “A” for the Agila group.
Coco Martin said that he is forever grateful to the Filipino viewers who brought forth the show’s popularity for half a decade.
“Iyan ang Pilipino, marunong tumanaw ng utang na loob kung anuman iyong ibinigay sa ‘yo, kung anuman ang ginawang maganda sa ‘yo, at mahirap kalimutan iyon. Habang buhay kong tatanawin na utang na loob,” he stressed.
Aside from leading the series, Martin also serves as the creative head and one of the series’ directors.
The series premiered on September 28, 2015, and it is a consistent number one TV show in the Philippines. If not for ABS-CBN’s shutdown in July 2020, it may have suffered a while on its rating, but the Network fully migrated to digital when it launched Kapamilya Online Live.
Apart from Kapamilya Online Live, the free live streaming service of ABS-CBN on YouTube and facebook, Ang Probinsyano is still accessible via Kapamilya Channel, A2Z Channel 11, TV5, CineMo, iWant TFC, TFC, WeTV, and iflix.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is aired in 41 countries in Africa starting in July 2021 aside from neighboring Southeast Asian countries.
For the next season, it was revealed that Jane de Leon will soon have her exit to start filming the series, Darna. Julia Montes, Martin’s rumored girlfriend, is also set to join the series as Cardo’s newest leading lady.
Martin felt that he is embarking on a new journey with the show’s revamp.
He also expressed his love and loyalty to ABS-CBN despite its shutdown.
“Hindi ko ma-imagine na ako, personally, ay aalis,” Martin said.
“Kasi magsarado man ang kumpanya, ‘yung pagmamahal ko, hindi ko makakalimutan. Hinding-hindi ko makakalimutan ‘yung ginawa nila sa buhay ko at sa mga tao. Sobrang ipaglalaban ko ‘to.”
