TV host Kim Atienza refuted the accusation of a troll trying to ‘connect’ the Department of Health’s (DOH) deficiency to that of the alleged tax evasion of ABS-CBN.
On August 11, Atienza shared on twitter his reaction after finding out that the DOH, as per a Commission on Audit’s (COA) report, was missing P67 billion in funds–supposedly meant for the country’s COVID-19 response.
67 billion. gosh.

His reaction attracted trolls.
Among those mean tweets that the TV host responded was a comment by a netizen (obviously a troll), who used the twitter handle, @Betamaks1, linking the DOH’s deficiencies to that of the alleged tax evasion of Atienza’s home Network.
The hater, copied Atienza’s tweet, wrote, “ABS-CBN tax evasion. Gosh.”
However, the TV host used facts by responding sarcastically, “May CoA report palang ganyan? Thanks for telling me.”

The TV host was indeed right. There was no ‘ABS-CBN tax evasion’ report made by COA.
Moreover, of all the accusations being thrown at ABS-CBN, none of those claims have been proven by the minions of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
Regarding the ‘tax evasion,’ it was already cleared by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
To recall, BIR Asst. Commissioner Manuel Mapoy, in one of the hearings for the Network’s franchise in 2020, declared that there were no tax deficiencies with the agency as it regularly paid its taxes.
“ABS-CBN Corporation ay regularly paying taxes for the past years. Na-check naman po na ‘yung dapat nilang i-withhold at na-remit naman nila sa gobyerno,” he stated.
Despite ABS-CBN’s predicament and still without franchise, Atienza chose to remain as a Kapamilya. He is part of TV Patrol, providing weather forecasts and trivia for Filipinos.
