Singer-actor Sam Concepcion shared his thoughts on the value of the art to people amid lockdowns.
On August 5, during the media conference for the upcoming online concert, Four Hearts, Concepcion said people turn to art when times are bad.
“When times are good, you turn to art. When times are bad, you still turn to art. It’s something we literally cannot live without.
“All these things, all these other things are /important. Syempre that we do in whatever it is the society aims for.
“You really go back to art, eh. It’s just in us. Mayroon tayong connection sa music, visual art, or whatever it is na venue mo for art na parang it reflects you. Reflects your life.”
Concepcion will share the online concert stage on August 28 at 8 pm with his fellow performers, Janine Teñoso, Katrina Velarde, and Daryl Ong in their upcoming online concert Four Hearts, directed by Paolo Valenciano.
Audiences can view the event on KTX for Philippine audiences and on the IWANTFC and TFC IPTV platforms for audiences on other territories.
Ticket prices are Php 999 for KTX or USD 19.99 for IWANTTFC and TFC IPTV.
Concepcion described their digital concert as an intimate event.
“The set, the way, with the limited space and limited set that we have, was definitely maximized. And, I think ‘yun rin ‘yung magiging charm noong show.
“It doesn’t have to be grand, big, and spectacular for you to enjoy. We were aiming for a more intimate, up close. Even with our song choices, we wanted all of it to work that way, maging intimate s’ya.”
However, he also admitted that he misses having live concert events.
“Mahirap, hindi pa rin ako sanay na gumawa ng mga digital na shows. Iba pa rin ‘yung feeling eh ng live talaga. I can’t wait na dumating ‘yung araw na pwede na tayong ulit magsama-sama, lumabas, and go to festivals and go to concerts.
“I think collectively, it will always make for a great show kasi nandoon ‘yung we’re all hungry for live entertainment. Especially, na hindi pa siya dadarating sa Pilipinas.”
Earlier, Concepcion shared his thoughts on social media regarding the reimplementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila this August 2021.
