Kapamilya star Angel Locsin shared that this series made her a household name and paved her way into the showbiz industry.
In an interview with Matteo Guidicelli’s podcast show called Matt Runs, Locsin said that even though “Darna” is her most famous role to date, she still gives credit to a series she did in the other network which made her famous.
“Darna ‘yung pinakasikat na project talaga. I think, lahat naman, pinapangarap makuha ‘yung project na yun. Pero ang nagbigay sa akin ng pangalan, siguro ‘yung ‘Mulawin’ with Richard Gutierrez,” said Locsin.
She revealed that the Kapuso fantasy series Mulawin paved her way into stardom as there were a few series of the same genre back then.
“Hindi pa kasi uso ‘yung mga fantaserye noon, ‘yung mga fight scenes, lalo na sa mga babae,” she said.
The Kapuso series Mulawin premiered in August 2004, while Darna premiered in April 2005.
The 36-year-old actress explained that Mulawin became a success because of all the hard work and sacrifices that she and the staff gave for the series.
“Kasi kahit paupuin ako sa puro niknik na mga dahon, okay lang. ‘Yung mga sugat ko sa legs noon, grabe. Ang kati-kati ng legs ko. Pero, na-enjoy ko. And siguro, ‘yung tiwala ko rin sa director ko, kasi lahat din sila, hirap eh,” she said.
Angel Locsin is not only an actress but also a Philanthropist who is dubbed as a ‘real-life superhero.’
