Broadcast journalist and news anchor, Korina Sanchez-Roxas expressed her disgust over a basher who commented ill on her recent ‘free slipper’ campaign post on Instagram account.
This advocacy is spearheaded by Sanchez-Roxas for the longest time since her program Rated K aired on ABS-CBN.
The purpose of the advocacy is to provide free slippers for barefooted children nationwide. Gradually, the campaign runs far by reaching out to unfortunate kids who don’t own a pair.
Despite ABS-CBN’s closure, the broadcaster with her program re-titled Rated Korina, which currently airs both on A2Z and TV5 channels, and continues its charity to support children with the primary cause.
On her social media post, Sanchez mentioned her sentiment toward the advocacy.
“I saw the child running on the hot pavement barefoot, andumi ng paa, parang hindi napapaso ang talampakan. Pero nakatawa pa rin.
“I remember Pepe en Pilar and I couldn’t imagine them this way.
“Well, that’s why Rated Korina continues where Rated K left off. We were in Malolos, Bulacan today. Si Neil, ‘yung bata, nakatitig sa bago niyang tsinelas. Parang di makapaniwala.
“150 children went home with a big smile today. Tsinelas lang pero anlaking bagay.”

However, a basher was called out by the broadcaster when his comment went below the belt.
“Bakit puro mumurahin tsinelas lang binibigay hindi ba pwedeng maayos at matibay na sapatos yun tatagal gamitin.
“Magbibigay din lang kayo ‘yun mapapakinabangan at pangmatagalan na,” the basher wrote.
“Kapal mo. Gumastos ka nga para sa Milyon Milyon bata? [face with one eyebrow raised, thumbs down emojis]”
On a bright note, Sanchez-Roxas also encouraged those who can help donate slippers for less fortunate children.
“If you have space in your heart for these kids, we accept donations of rubber slippers for children 2-12 years old and we can pick up. We will make sure your kindness reaches those where the help greatly matters,” she wrote.
Her post gained positive and inspiring comments from people who have been supporting her advocacy ever since.
