New Star Magic artist Kaila Estrada revealed her parents, Janice de Belen and John Estrada’s shocked reaction to her decision to enter showbiz.
In her exclusive interview, Estrada shared her parent’s supportive but shocked reaction to her decision to pursue a career in acting.
“My Dad was the first to find out kasi parang nagkasalubong lang kami somewhere. So, nasabi ko sa kanya and then he was super happy. Super supportive, and he was really excited for me.
“And, si Mama rin, nagulat din s’ya at first. Kasi syempre, both my parents actually nagulat kasi hindi nila alam na I would get into showbiz.”
Aside from their reactions, Estrada received life advice from her parents about being a decent person.
“First, sinabi nila sa akin na s’yempre, you have to be a good person, you have to be professional. And, you have to be punctual. kailangan marunong kang makisama sa mga tao maging magalang sa mga kapwa artista mo. And, I feel it’s not just advice to getting into showbiz. That’s just general life advice, as in be a decent person.”
They also gave valuable acting tips such as being honest with herself.
“Sa acting naman, stay humble, stay grounded. And, also sabi ng Mom ko sa akin, you have to be honest. ‘Yun ‘yung acting tip n’ya sa akin na nag-stick sa akin.
“You have to be honest with yourself and kung ano ‘yung nararamdaman mo. That is the only way you can allow yourself to be /completely vulnerable while acting. That’s really the only way to be able to do a good job. Kung genuine ‘yung nafi-feel mo.”
Earlier, Estrada signed her contract with Star Magic through the Star Magic Black Pen Event alongside 40 fresh new faces for the talent management arm of ABS-CBN.
She also joins the upcoming Kapamilya teleserye, Viral, alongside Joshua Garcia, Charlie Dizon, and Jameson Blake.
