As he encounters a human error in vaccination, Eken Afuang Matsunaga wishes to spread awareness to everyone to be mindful of their vaccination.
Previously, a video of a vaccination error in Makati City where the health worker did not push the plunger went viral online.
Makati City Mayor Abby Binay responded to the complaint promptly and said that it was an honest mistake.
However, another similar scenario in Mandaluyong City is shared by the drag queen and performer Eken on Facebook.
Eken shared the video of him getting his second dose of Pfizer vaccine at SM Megamall.
Accordingly, when the injection was pulled by the health worker, she felt that something sprinkled on his neck but, she did not mind it. Until she posted his vaccination video online, his friend noticed that the vaccine was not really injected into his arms.
He rewatched the video, and then he realized that the health worker could not push the plunger.
Eken then rushed to a doctor and advised him to go to the nurse who vaccinated him.
She then let the nurse watch the video then the nurse acknowledged it as a mistake of her.
After his complaint, she was finally given the vaccine, this time fully and corrected by the nurse.
In his post, Eken also said that she is not posting it to discredit the frontline health workers, but instead, she wishes to raise awareness to the public.
She then advised people to also record the vaccination and post it on social media to also encourage other people who are hesitant to get a jab.
On June 30, Senate President Vicente Sotto III urged the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to probe the vaccination errors in the different Local Government Units (LGU) since many similar complaints arise.
The vaccine is believed to be our defense against COVID-19. Though it will not fully protect us from the virus, it will minimize the effect of the virus on our body if ever we will catch it.
The COVID-19 vaccine is also the only hope we have to get through this pandemic so, everyone should consider getting jabbed. Yes, it is right to choose the brand that we prefer, but, as doctors recommend, the best vaccine is the one that’s available.
