Sarah Geronimo was present during the virtual reunion of ASAP Champions held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 via Zoom.
The gathering was also attended by Erik Santos, Rachelle Ann Go, Christian Bautista, and Mark Bautista. Despite having different career paths, the group of singers proved that their friendship knows no network wars.
Prior to this, they had a small virtual reunion back in November 2020. The ASAP Champions last met personally when Rachelle Ann flew to the Philippines for a concert in January 2020.
The original batch of “ASAP Champions” was formed in 2004.
Sarah was accompanied by her husband, Matteo Guidicelli, and one of their pet dogs in the meeting.
Meanwhile, Rachelle Ann happily showed her newborn baby, Lukas Judah, to his Titos and Titas even just through a virtual gathering.
Christian shared a screenshot of their rare reunion on his Instagram story with the caption, “Friends. Family.”
Erik reposted the photo and wrote, “Love you guys! #ChampsForever”.
ASAP Champions was discontinued in 2006 but it was only in 2010 when the group of veteran singers stopped performing together. Since then, each one of them took different paths in showbiz.
Sarah and Erik remain as Kapamilyas and are still part of ASAP although the former hasn’t made any recent appearances in the show.
It was in 2004, when Mark signed a contract with ABS-CBN, thus becoming a regular performer in ASAP. He and Rachelle Ann were later pulled out by the VIVA Artists Agency. In 2010, he signed a four-year exclusive contract with GMA Network. The two became regular performers on the defunct show Party Pilipinas.
After being with ABS-CBN for 10 years, Christian transferred to GMA Network and signed a three-year exclusive contract on March 20, 2013.
Christian and Mark are part of GMA Network’s All-Out Sundays which competes with ASAP Natin ‘To in its timeslot.
Rachelle Ann married Martin Spies, a South African-born lad, in 2018. They are currently staying in the United Kingdom with their son.
