Hit-korean drama series Lie After Lie started with good ratings on Monday, June 21.
The Korean drama scored 7.7% on its pilot episode taking the number 6 spot of the AGB Nielsen NUTAM’s Top 20 most-watched weekday programs.
The series follows the life of Eunice (Lee Yu-ri), a daughter-in-law of a powerful chaebol family, who suddenly becomes a murderer for allegedly killing her husband.
Eunice was convicted of the crime and was sent to jail where she gave birth to her daughter Emma. After giving birth her mother-in-law Diana took her child away from her. She was then released after a decade with a quest to reunite with her daughter again.
Lie After Lie replaced Heartful Cafe in GMA Network’s telebabad line-up.
Although the Korean drama started fairly well in ratings, it still was a downgrade from Heartful Cafe‘s average ratings during its run.
Heartful Cafe averages 8% to 9% daily and consistently occupied the number 5 slot in the top 20 most-watched weekday programs.
Meanwhile, Lie After Lie‘s timeslot was supposed to be the timeslot of Kapuso’s upcoming drama Legal Wives.
However, due to the pandemic restrictions in TV production, GMA Network decided to postpone Legal Wives‘ pilot and replace it with the Korean series.
