Seasoned actress Claudine Barretto does not believe that her niece, Julia Barretto’s career, is going down.
“Hindi ako naniniwala na babagsak kasi sa akin, nangyari na yan, ilang beses na. Lalo na yung mga rebellious days ko,” pointed Barretto during the virtual press conference of her upcoming movie, “Deception”.
This followed after speculations about her niece’s career arose, claiming that it’s going down.
The actress pointed that her niece’s career is not failing but more of wrong timing.
“Naging nega lang siya and we just need a real good project for her.”
In fact, despite being not on good terms, the actress refuses to believe that Julia’s career will go down the drain.
“Ako meron akong sama ng loob kay Julia at everybody knows that. But I don’t want to think na bumagsak ang career niya,” said Barretto. “Since I’m here in show business, mas ang pagkakaintindi ko is that she’s not given the right projects.”
And even with the issues that Julia faced, her aunt Claudine is still waiting for a good project that would eventually revive her career.
“Hindi babagsak si Julia. Because dugong Barretto yan so alam kong magaling yan. Tsaka may dugong Padilla yan so magaling yan sa comedy,” highlighted the actress.
Meanwhile, Julia’s most recent project was in 2020, a movie called, “Block Z”. She also had a mini-series in iWant titled, “I am U”.
In the meantime, Julia is under Viva Entertainment, which is one of the producers of her aunt’s comeback movie, “Deception”. The movie tells the story of a former actress who was convicted of parricide and arson. After spending some time in jail, she gets another shot at life to redeem herself.
“Deception” is directed by Direk Joel Lamangan and will start its production on June 11.
