Enzo Almario recalled experiencing discrimination because of his sexual orientation.
In an interview, Almario said that he encountered discrimination before he entered college.
However, he made sure things would change when he began studying for his degree by ensuring that he and his friends won’t be bullied.
He also expressed his concern about the current discrimination within the LGBTQIA+ community in the country.
Earlier, Almario also called out people asking about his preference in his relationship with his boyfriend of four years, Ceejay Serrano.
At a young age, people knew Almario as Renzo Almario of Popstar Kids and Sugarpop. Aside from his singing career, he also made an appearance in GMA Network’s Bakekang in 2006. Enzo came out publicly as a genderqueer in 2018 when he joined Tawag ng Tanghalan in ABS-CBN.
Then, Almario joined the singing group iDolls with Matty Juniosa and Lucas Garcia in 2019 after competing in ABS-CBN’s Philippine Idol. More recently, they bagged the fourth spot in Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 3.
As for musical projects, they sang the theme song ‘Hinog na ang Mundo’ for Boys Love movie-turned-teleserye, The Boy Foretold by the Stars: The Series. They also teased their upcoming gay empowerment song under Star Music and Star Pop.
