The Soul Princess, Jonalyn Viray is now a freelance artist following the non-renewal of her contract with GMA Network which ended last May.
She is happy about her freelance status, and is thrilled at the prospect of guesting in other shows, especially “ASAP 20”, she said in her interview with Regee Bonoan of HATAW Tabloid.
The popular diva said that she watches “ASAP 20” and admires those who perform on the said show. While Jonalyn has not renewed her contract with GMA Network, she is grateful that they took care of her career for the past 10 years. She said she will be forever indebted to the network who gave her the opportunity to break into showbusiness.
She won as the first “Pinoy Pop Superstar” Grand Champion at GMA Network when she was only 15 years old. Jonalyn had a certified Gold Record Award for her album ‘On My Own’ under GMA Records in 2005. Then in 2008, she became part of the trio named “La Diva” together with Maricris Garcia and Aicelle Santos. The trio had an album released in 2010.
While under contract with the Kapuso network, Jonalyn guested or became a regular performer in past GMA shows like “SOP Rules”, “Party Pilipinas”, and “Sunday All Stars”.
Jonalyn is set to launch an album next year titled “Heart of Glass”, her second album under Creative Media Entertainment (CME). Her self-titled album was released by CME two years ago.
Now that the “Fearless” diva is now on freelance, expect her in several top-rated shows on television. Nice move for Jonalyn. Her talent shouldn’t be bound to one network alone. After all, the five gold medals she earned from the “World Championships of Performing Arts” just goes to show that her talent is world-class.
