In the American TV show, Almost Paradise‘s virtual press conference with Filipino actors–Nonie Buencamino and Arthur Acuña shared their most memorable memories during their stint with the said series.
Both actors share one of their fondest memories while doing an on-location shoot on a Southern island in the country.
Buencamino recalled that having Acuña as a neighbor gave him the chance to hang out with people his age.
The actor revealed that during their stay in Cebu where the series was shot, he used to brew coffee at 4 in the morning. Then he shares it with his co-actor while having a conversation at 5 a.m.
“I have many fond memories in my stint in Cebu. Well, one of my good memories will be having Mr. Art Acuna as my neighbor. And brewing coffee at 4 am and share it with him.
“Then at 5 am, we will have a really nice chat. Kasi over here, old people, we don’t get the chance to chat with other people at 5 in the morning.”
His co-actor, Acuña also shared that wonderful experience as Buencamino made coffee and sandwiches in the early morning.
“Nonie just gave me a coffee at 5 a.m. with a sandwich to go with pa. And I was like, ‘Wow! This guy is so freaking good!’ We also had nightcaps together after a shoot.
“We talk about everything. So my fondest memories are very people-oriented.”
Buencamino had a great experience with the ABS-CBN staff.
He praised the Kapamilya crew for their professionalism and for taking care of them.
“I also have really great memories with the staff who are so professional and very caring. People in the ABS-CBN, they were the cream of the crop over there. And because I knew them already from the years I have been working with ABS, it felt like it was another home.”
Almost Paradise is the first American show co-produced by ABS-CBN and an American production company, Electric Entertainment. It is a crime drama series top-billed by Hollywood actor Christian Kane.
The series features an all-star Filipino cast led by Nonie Buencamino, who plays police chief Ike Ocampo, Art Acuña as Detective Ernesto Alamares, and Samantha Richelle as Detective Kai Mendoza.
