FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is nowhere near its ending as new characters will join the longest-running action-drama series. One of the new addition is actress Cristina Gonzales.
After 15 years of serving the public as a politician, King-Kring to most of her friends in showbiz finally decided to make a comeback.
Dreamscape Entertainment, the show’s producer, revealed Gonzales’s character as Amalia Mante.
She is the mother of Lia, portrayed by Jane De Leon, who was used as a hostage by the show’s main character Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) to escape the Black Ops.
Dalisay kidnapped Lia to avenge the death of his wife Alyana at the hands of the former Black Ops unit.
Recently, the action-drama series is gradually making its way to the top of the weekday rating board.
According to the most recent AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey results, FPJAP was at number four on Thursday, May 6. On that day, it received a 10.0 percent ranking, surpassing former rank number 4–Owe My Love, which received a 9.7 percent rating or a margin of 0.3 percent.
Even though it was not broadcasted on its home network, the TV5 simulcast of an ABS-CBN primetime teleserye proved fruitful, as the most recent rating data showed an increase over previous ones.
Despite the nonrenewal of the franchise, it continued to reach its loyal viewers through platforms such as YouTube. It recently smashed the record for having the most concurrent viewers on the video streaming platform, YouTube.
Interestingly, the show’s concurrent online viewing has increased in sync with its television ratings, rising since its free debut on both A2Z Channel 11 and TV5.
With the high ratings that the show is getting, new characters will also join to spice up and thrill the series even more.
Other new cast members will include Simon Ibarra, William Lorenzo, Paulo Angeles, Enzo Pineda, Christian Vasquez, and Aya Fernandez.
