Since transferring to ABS-CBN, Jake Ejercito already had an upcoming show along with former Kapuso star Janine Gutierrez. As a son of a prominent actor and former President Joseph Estrada–there are comparisons between him and his father.
Despite being pressured, Jake understood that he and his dad will always be compared. The important thing for him, however, is what his parents tell him: just be himself.
“It’s inevitable to be compared to him. My mom also made an impact on TV before. My parents always tell me ‘na huwag isipin masyado’… But the pressure will always be there,” he said during ABS-CBN’s virtual press conference on Friday, April 30.
Meanwhile, his daughter with actress Andi Eigenmann, Ellie, is growing and there would come a time that she, too, would also enter showbusiness. Facing such a possibility, the actor admitted that he will be there to support her.
“She’s been exposed to the industry because of her mom. Ellie’s done a lot of photoshoots also and she’s really comfortable in front of the camera. If ever she decides to join, I’ll support her 100%.”
With Jake being a father at a young age, his daughter helped him open his eyes and grow as a person.
“I was a dad at a very young age so my life really changed. It’s been very fulfilling. I’m just making the most out of everyday pag kasama ko siya,” shared the 31-year-old Ejercito.
“She’s slowly starting to have her own person, her own mind. So our relationship is in a really exciting phase right now.”
When it comes to relationships, Jake responded that being a father to Ellie is his only focus.
“I’ve been single for the past five years. I really chose to focus on my parenting.”
Jake will star in the upcoming series Marry Me, Marry You and will play a figure in the love triangle between Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez’s characters.
The series is supported with a stellar cast: Cherry Pie Picache, Vina Morales, Teresa Loyzaga, Lito Pimentel, Joko Diaz, Jett Pangan, Edu Manzano, and the newest Kapamilya Sunshine Dizon.
