Three Air Force personnel were injured after a Philippine Air Force crashed on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, in the waters off Jandayan Island off Getafe, Bohol. Meanwhile, the pilot, Capt. Aurelios Olano died during the crash.
The surviving personnel –1Lt. Hilary Bunao, co-pilot, AIC Bonn Arasola, and AIC Rex Anapyo were first brought to President Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Hospital in Talibon town, Bohol before being transferred to hospitals in Cebu where Sen. Go was currently a guest speaker for the 500th anniversary of the Victory of Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City.
Although it was an act of kindness from the senator, over twitter, personalities and Netizens were disgusted as Bong Go’s photo-op may have delayed the patient’s needed immediate medical attention.
A Netizen pointed out that the man needs immediate medical care instead of a photo op from the senator.
Immediate medical care, hindi photo op. 🤦🏻♂️ https://t.co/Y85TvLSvzv

Philippine Air Force Chief of Command Staff Col. Antonio Francisco clarified that the photographs were all over the Internet were of fake news.
According to Francisco, it was an unfair remark as the pictures did not narrate the entire story.
“Very unfair naman yung remarks na pinaghintay yung ambulance, yung photo ops. Actually, kalokohan lahat nang ‘yun. That was the only time nung ihahatid ko na siya sa eroplano niya na pasakay na siya pauwi, na nalaman niyang may nadisgrisya at nandun eksaktong kukunin ng ambulance. Tumakbo pa siya. Talagang tumakbo,” said Col. Francisco in an interview with PTV.
Sen. Go also urged those who feasted on the fake news to stop twisting what transpired in the airport. His purpose is only to help the soldiers who were risking their lives for the country.
“Wag niyong baluktutin ang pangyayari dahil sa pagnanais naming makatulong sa ating kasundaluhan na nagbubuwis ng buhay para sa bayan,” said the senator.
Meanwhile, the crash survivors each received P15,000 while the family of the deceased pilot P30,000 from Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and the senator. The government will also shoulder the hospitalization of the three injured Airforce personnel.
