Several Netizens and celebrities called out Palace mouthpiece Harry Roque over his claim that the Philippines is still in “good shape” when it comes to the COVID-19 situation.
In his recent remarks, Roque said people should not focus on the one million reported cases of COVID-19 in the country but look at the number of recoveries instead.
“Alam ninyo po iyong one million, huwag ninyo pong titingnan lamang ang one million cases. Unang-una halos 900,000 na po ang gumaling diyan so mga aktibong cases ay mahigit-kumulang 100,000,” Roque said.
Roque also added that even with the surge in cases due to the new variant, which is also being experienced by other countries, the Government still manages it well.
“So I don’t think it is a negative reflection. On the other hand dahil nga po mayroon tayong world ranking, makikita po natin na we are still managing the new variants rather well,” he insisted.
Netizen @_mamser meanwhile quickly called out Roque’s statement saying “PPNAGSASASABI MO HA”
The Netizen attached screenshots of news tweets about the National Kidney Transplant Institute worrisome situation where their patients have to lie outside the hospital because of the lack of hospital beds due to the COVID-19 surge.

Senator Risa Hontiveros, meanwhile, called on to overhaul the IATF leadership, saying there are also one million reasons for them to replace with real experts and who can [properly] address the pandemic.
Higit 1 milyon na ang mga dahilan kung bakit kailangan nang palitan ang mga namamahala ng IATF.
Kung may natitira pa silang hiya at malasakit sa taumbayan, dapat maghanap na ng kapalit ang liderato nila. For the sake of all our lives, overhaul the IATF & call in the real experts. https://t.co/OLZysBzOpi
