Kapamilya comedienne and actress Pokwang couldn’t control herself from reacting to the latest development at the Manila Bay dolomite beach.
Reacting to a GMA News’ tweet regarding the comment of the Scientists’ group on the dolomite project, she said even non-scientist would agree that it’s a waste of money given the pandemic.
“kahit hindi ka scientist kung bukas ang mata at isip mo kitang kita ang pag aaksaya ng pera sa dolomite!!Ok passookkk… #anoscripttoday #anoambagmo #daminyokuda #artistakalang #angbobomo #maglutokanalang hahaaahaaaha”

On Wednesday, April 14, DENR has dumped a fresh batch of crushed dolomite in Manila Bay despite the country’s worsening COVID-19 situation.
Meanwhile, aside from Pokwang former Vice President Jojo Binay also blasted the government for pushing through with the project even as the country grapples to solve its COVID-19 problems.
Binay argued that with thousands infected and with millions of people losing their work due to the pandemic, it’s nothing but a waste of public money to dump dolomite in Manila Bay.
“With thousands infected and dying from COVID-19, and over four million out of work and needing ayuda, the government is wasting millions on a fake dolomite ‘beach’,” Binay said.
Incumbent Senator Richard Gordon also called out the government for its latest move on the Manila Bay dolomite project.
According to Gordon, it’s the height of insensitivity to push with the project given the plight of the people who are affected by the pandemic. He also added that the government should instead use the money to address the COVID-19 problems and help millions of people who are currently experiencing hunger.
“Manila Bay beautification not now! Use the money to fight COVID & hunger!” Gordon said in his twitter account on Thursday, April 15.
“Dolomite project for Manila Bay is not needed right now and is sheer bad judgment. Crass, totally insensitive to the plight of our people,” he added.
