Unkabogable Star and It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda has a YouTube channel that has now surpassed five million subscribers.
Despite the competition that the comedian faced against other YouTube vloggers, it seemed he paved his way to be one of the country’s up-and-coming vloggers.
But what is Vice Ganda’s reason for venturing into YouTube?
In the media conference of his endorsement, Vice Ganda recalled after ABS CBN’s unrenewed franchise. He decided to venture into YouTube to connect with viewers after the incident.
“So since walang TV anong paraan? So the only way na patok nung panahon na ‘yun is ‘yung mga online shows. So kailangan mo siyang pasukin so pinasok ko ‘yung YouTube,” Vice Ganda shared.
But one thing Vice Ganda is sure that he also ventured vlogging to earn money, although he has savings, the comedian knows that it will run out soon.
He said he did not want to experience hardship again.
“Ayoko nang bumalik sa paghihirap. Hello, nanggaling na ako dun. At nagbabad na ako dun ng bongga. So ngayon nasa ganito akong posisyon, hindi ko puwedeng pabayaan ‘yung kung anong meron ako, kailangan ko pangalagaan ‘yung estado ng buhay ko. Kailangan ko pa rin kumita.”
And because of this path he ventured, Vice Ganda realized that many people are interested in his content on YouTube, he said that he saw that many were still interested in an artist like him so he continued to do his ‘purpose’ for the public.
“Kasi this pandemic cannot stop me from serving my purpose. Kasi kung ganun lang naman, ano pang siste ng buhay kung wala kang sini-serve na purpose ‘di ba?” Vice Ganda reasoned.
One of Vice Ganda’s popular video uploads on YouTube was his House Tour in October 2020. It already earned seven million + views.
That is why the noontime show host is very grateful to the supporters of his channel band’s promise to deliver more contents that will make viewers happy amid the pandemic.
“Maraming salamat sa mga subscribers ko dahil hinahayaan niyo akong patawanin pa rin kayo, aliwin kayo sa ganitong panahon, at the same time nagkakaroon rin ako ng extrang hanapbuhay,” he promised.
