Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson said he can separate his work and roles from his personal life.
At the virtual media conference for his highly anticipated ABS-CBN Star Creatives’ teleserye, Init sa Magdamag, he stressed that he is good at separating his work from his personal life.
“Magaling po akong maghiwalay ng ginagawa ko sa life ko, sa ginagawa ko sa set. Kung ano man yung pinagdadaanan ko, kunwari nasa gitna ako ng controversy, or wala. Nasa sitwasyon ako ng buhay ko na napaka saya ko, hindi sya naapektuhan yung trabaho ko sa set. Kung ano man ang status ng puso ko sa panahon na nagtratrabaho ako, hiwalay sya sa ginagawa ko.”
Then, Anderson said he feels excited about his role in the teleserye.
“Na-excite ako kasi yung mga challenges na hinarap ni Tupe, never ko pa sya na-tackle bilang actor. Yung sacrifices na willing syang gawin para sa pagmamahal, para sa pag-ibig.”
He also added that he feels personally attracted to the character in the teleserye.
“Personally, na-attract ako dun because grabe yung adjustment nya sa buhay nya, grabe yung na-sakripisyo nya sa buhay (referring to his character).”
As the media conference went on, Anderson related his personal experiences and relationships in real life to his character in the teleserye.
“Yung kung paano sya mag-mahal. Hindi sya yung taong kailangan isigaw sa buong mundo yung pagmamahal nya sa isang tao, sa relationship nya. Kumbaga alam nya yung gusto nya and gagawin nya lahat para sa mga taong malapit sa kanya. Yung mga mahal nya sa buhay. So, siguro doon ako nakakarelate sa kanya.”
However, Anderson said he doesn’t need motivation from his personal life to portray his role as Tupe in the Kapamilya Teleserye.
“Yung character ko dito sa Init Sa Magdamag, marami syang hinaharap na obstacles, marami syang hinaharap ng problema. And, sa tagal ng taping namin, and yung pumasok ako sa buhay ni Tupe, ramdam ko talaga yung hirap nya. So, hindi ko kailangan kumaha sa sarili kong, personal life ko. Because yung pinagdadaanan nya nakakaawa din eh. Magkakaroon din kayo ng simpatya sa pinagdadaanan nya.”
