After all his harsh comments, rude behavior, and constant defense over the Duterte administration, Palace spokesman Harry Roque never failed to make people cringe. Basing on all the flak–he is getting, the public is curious about his real stance.
Celebrities wonder where does Presidential Spox Harry Roque gets the ‘audacity’ for speaking such statements.
Ramon Bautista pointed out the consistency of Roque in provoking the public with his insensitivity.
Saan kaya humuhugot ng self esteem ito si sir para humarap sa publiko at magsabi ng mga ganitong pasabog on a regular basis

The insensitivity is appalling, spox. Sana tubuan ka naman ng kaunting hiya at pagpapakumbaba. Di mo sana maranasan mawalan ng trabaho at sabihing “nagbakasyon” ka lang.

I don’t know if anyone would characterize this exhausting, anxiety-ridden, one-of-the-longest-in-the-world lockdown as a vacation. Everyone wants to get back to work, but at what cost? https://t.co/vrk7YlJFgV

These questions came after Roque labeled the country’s lockdown due to the pandemic as a ‘vacation’. This statement is truly insensitive because there are a lot of people who lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and were left with no choice but to stay at their homes.
But maybe, Roque is speaking by experience. To recall, he violated quarantine protocols in July when he visited the dolphins in a marine adventure park in Zambales. He truly enjoyed vacationing amidst the pandemic.
Roque’s insensitive attitude was already exposed many times before.
Recently, he was again slammed because of his rudeness to the journalists. During the Malacañang press briefing, GMA News reporter Joseph Morong requested Roque to avoid cutting-off reporters while they are still talking. The spokesman then said that it was not his intention to cut-off them and blamed the telcos for their poor service. Pia Ranada echoed Morong’s request but Roque insisted that it is the fault of the telcos.
“It’s just funny the telecoms seem to fail every time you say we’ve asked too many questions,” Ranada stressed.
Aside from Morong and Ranada, he also blasted CNN reporters Trish Terada and Pinky Webb before.
With the issue of the unpaid debts of ABS-CBN to DBP, Roque posted a matrix that allegedly contains the transactions of ABS-CBN with DBP and the Lehmann Brothers. This allegation was eventually denied byt the state-run bank.
He also has several cringe-worthy posts, which are obviously for clout.
Roque even tried to insinuate that his life story will be featured on the ABS-CBN’s drama anthology ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’. He said that people will just pity the actor who will play his role because all he does is study, in life.
So, where is Roque’s self-esteem rooted? Is he confident because of the ‘immunity’ he has being one of President Duterte’s pet? Or he just believes that publicity, whether good or bad, is still publicity after all?
