With the recent rebranding of GMA News TV to GTV, it now aims to cater to young audiences. Therefore, the sister channel of GMA Network is introducing programs specifically for the younger generations.
In an interview, the network’s content producer Nessa Valdellon revealed that since GTV is a news and public affairs channel, it will still have its existing programs such as Balitanghali, Dobol B TV, GMA Regional TV Strip, News TV Live, Regional TV Weekend News, State of the Nation, Biyahe ni Drew, Brigada, Good News Kasama si Vicky Morales, iJuander, Pinas Sarap, Pop Talk, and Taste Buddies.
But in order to have these shows fit the taste of a young viewership, Valdellon said that they are now making changes to suit their target audience.
“[In] State of the Nation, we changed the anchors to younger anchors. Actually, for the other programs they were already hitting the demographic before,” Valdellon said.
Currently, the channel has the romantic fantasy series, “The Lost Recipe” which premiered on January 18, 2021, starring Kelvin Miranda and Mikee Quintos. It also acquired the coverage of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
With all the current programs, GTV has more in store for its new demographics. And these are the shows that would surely spice up Filipino homes.
