Kapamilya star Vice Ganda admitted that the pressure from ‘It’s Showtime’ is one of the reasons for his receding hairline in a short video clip that aired on Youtube last Tuesday, February 16.
When Vice Ganda’s co-host Vhong Navarro asked how the comedian could wear a hairpin knowing the fact that Vice is already balding, the comedian gave a playful answer.
“Bakit tinatanong mo kung saan nilalagay ‘yung hairpin? San ba nilalagay ‘yung hairpin?” Vice Ganda answered in jest.
“[Bakit] mo tinatanong mo saakin kung saan ko nilalagay ‘yung hairpin?” the comedian added.
Vice Ganda explained that he can wear a hairpin back when his hair was still thick.
“Makapal pa, nalagas lang ‘yun dahil sa It’s Showtime,” the comedian said referring to his hair.
“Ang taas ng pressure niyo rito,” he added.
The 44-year-old comedian host mentioned that when he started to be part of the noontime show back in 2009, his hair was still thick. He jokingly said that It’s Showtime brought him stress and pressure.
“Nagsimula ako dito 12 years ago, ang haba ng buhok ko, ang taas ng pressure niyo, tumaas din ang hairline ko,” he said.
Having a receding hairline is a hereditary trait. However, it can also occur because of illness or stress.
It is known that one of It’s Showtime’s greatest struggle was when GMA’s Aldub series started. Aldub is Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye portion of the “Juan for All, All for Juan” segment. ‘Aldub’ is a loveteam composed of Alden Richards and Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza.)
Aldub gained popularity among the viewers which threatened the TV ratings of other noontime shows including It’s Showtime. Aldub’s Kalyeserye started around July 2015 and aired its final episode on December 2016.
