Pinoy Big Brother is undoubtedly one of ABS-CBN’s potent venues in discovering potential superstars. Since its debut in 2005, the reality show has launched an incredible number of talents, who later on became the Network’s most prized stars.
Among its biggest discoveries are Kim Chiu, Sam Milby, Robi Domingo, Maymay Entrata, and Melai Cantiveros. Millions of fans were glued on their TV screens to witness the unfolding of MelaSon’s hilarious, yet charming relationship, which even continued after they left the Big Brother House. Likewise, KimeRald became one of ABS-CBN’s biggest love teams, mobilizing millions of faithful fans to support their partnership in movies and on tv shows. Pinoy Big Brother has proved itself as a powerful venue for stars, and it remains to be so, even after more than 15 years since its first season in 2005.
Now, as its 9th regular season airs, the show continues to discover new faces, and new loveteams, who are very likely going to follow the leads of KimErald, MelaSon, and ABS-CBN’s Big Three, namely KathNiel, LizQuen, and JaDine. It will be very interesting to follow the development of the team-ups born out of the recent editions of the show.

Aljon Mendoza and Karina Bautista
KarJon’s adorable on-screen relationship is relatively new, tracing its beginning at the Pinoy Big Brother House, and yet they have already thrilled fans with appearances in a number of shows.
In 2019, they debuted via the afternoon series, Sandugo, and in 2020, they starred on Ampalaya Chronicles: Labyu Hehe, and in the Star Cinema web series, Four Bad Boys and Me.
KarJon is set to star on the upcoming iWantTFC series, Hoy! Love You.
The two charmed fans of the reality show, Pinoy Big Brother, when they became its official housemates in 2019. At the house, Mendoza admitted that he was smitten with Bautista, but opted to maintain their developing friendship, since the latter still has a boyfriend at the moment.
Mendoza’s charming demeanor and shyness felt perfect for Bautista’s strong morena beauty and brimming confidence, exciting many fans about what further development wait for their relationship once they come back to the real world.
Barbie Imperial and Yves Flores
Barbie and Yves are among the new Kapamilya love teams to emerge last year. The birth of their team-up essentially marks ABS-CBN’s historical return to free television, after months of missing free television. Being part of ABS-CBN’s newest daytime drama, Bagong Umaga, and possible future projects, there is no way for BarVes but up.
Flores and Imperial have been exciting fans who are delighted by their characters on the new ABS-CBN drama. Dodong, Flores’ jolly character, seems a perfect match for Cai, Imperial’s character, who is beautiful, sophisticated, and of, course, rich.
Being PBB alumni, both Imperial and Flores are somewhat introduced to the world of showbiz, earlier than most of their contemporaries, but the workshops and subsequent projects ultimately helped them to become better actors.
Just last year, Flores was highly applauded for his performance on the military drama, A Soldier’s Heart, while Barbie Imperial charmed her fans with the digital series, ‘Oh, Mando!’.
Kaori Oinuma and Rhys Miguel
Oinuma’s and Miguel’s strong following goes back to when they were still housemates in Pinoy Big Brother. Subsequent appearances on television and (including web series, Four Bad Boys and Me) further solidified their love team. As they embark on new collaborations this year, the possibility of them joining the big leagues, gets out of the question.
Kaori’s exquisite Asian beauty makes her an interesting match for Fil-Am charmer, Rhys Miguel, and although a partnership like theirs isn’t unique to the local entertainment scene, or even to PBB, the arrival of KaoRhys send thousands of fans to kilig frenzy every time they share the same screen.
They will again excite their followers when they appear on the upcoming iWantTFC series, He’s Into Her.
