Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who never imagined that ASAP Natin ‘To on TV5 can actually be possible was amazed when asked for her thoughts on ABS-CBN, TV5 partnership.
“We never heard of that na two stations would come together and you know be as one. It was unheard of. I’m so happy to be part of it, I’m so happy to witness it and ngayon, madami tayong mga Kapatid na nakakapanood na ng ASAP and the other programs of ABS-CBN and it’s wonderful,” Velasquez shared during the media conference for her digital concert, Freedom, on Tuesday, January 26.
ASAP Natin ‘To‘s telecast on TV5 on Sunday, January 24, was the first-ever in Philippine television history.
In the same virtual conference, she expressed her gratitude to TV5 owner Manny V. Pangilinan and ABS-CBN big bosses for the opportunity to continue serving the Filipino nationwide and worldwide.
She also thanked A2Z Channel 11‘s Bro. Eddie Villanueva for helping the Network by providing space for ABS-CBN shows [even after its franchise rejection in 2020].
Velasquez believed that the partnership of the two Networks changed the landscape of Philippine entertainment and television.
“It’s a game-changer for me,” Velasquez said.
“The possibilities are so big. Can you imagine yung pwedeng gawin ng parehong network together like producing concerts together, producing a movie together.”
These possibilities will definitely excite everyone according to Velasquez.
“Panalong panalo ang ating mga viewers,” she said.
Although she believed that competition is good which makes the whole industry exciting, for her being able to cross over is a different thing. “Mas lalawak yung audience mo,” Regine Velasquez said.
More OPM artists will likewise benefit because of more work opportunities, she added.
Meanwhile, the Songbird’s Valentine concert Freedom will air on February 14 via KTX.ph. She assures everyone will enjoy the performances she has prepared for the concert.
