Suzette Doctolero seems to be fed up with Filipinos constantly saying that once GMA Network does a teleserye, love triangles or mistresses will usually pop up.
In a Facebook post, Doctolero answered the most frequent question regarding the theme of the TV series she is doing. In the meantime, the series that have made critics riled up is the Filipino adaptation of the hit Japanese ’70s anime, “Voltes V”.
Voltes V tells of three brothers, Steve, Big Bert, and Little John Armstrong, and their friends Jamie Robinson and Mark Gordon, as they fight the forces of humanoid aliens known as Boazanians who plan to invade the earth and launch their beast fighters all over the world.
The anime is for kids, and perfect for all ages as well. However, despite it being an anime that in no way involves any known GMA-related themes for their teleseryes, bashers fed on the fact that the network is known for doing those types of stories.
That is why Doctolero defended the Filipino adaptation of the anime stressing that they will not insert anything that would ruin the original story. The screenwriter also ranted on how the characters could impossibly be involved in love triangles or mistresses, or any sorts. She also pointed out that those who could not wait for it to be shown should refrain from saying or posting anything that involves prejudice regarding the upcoming TV series.
“May pa-simple o subtle love triangle sa VV [Voltes V] anime. ‘Wag in denial. Panoorin ninyo nga uli! Haha. Saka ilang taon ba sina Steve, Mark, at Jaime sa totoong buhay? Mga teens! Ano ba sila? Mga asexual? Haha. Kakasabi ko lang e. Mema na naman. Basta wait muna, bago ang judgement (sic) at di ka naman si God,” she wrote on her Facebook.

Doctolero also answered a Facebook user named Adrian Santos who accused her of putting unrelated stories to the original Voltes V story. She answered, with a hint of sarcasm that Zardos, the prince of the Boazanian, and the main antagonist in the story, is something that people would not expect.
However, it is clear that the main villain in said series is far from looking for a long lost child or any type of drama.

Voltes V: Legacy is directed by Mark Reyes, in partnership with anime producers TOEI and Telesuccess. It will be coming soon on GMA-7 as part of its Telebabad programs.
